Still using a CRT TV? Upgrade yourself to an HP LCD TV! They're sleek, more technologically advanced, and bring in more clarity than you could ever imagine! HP Flatscreen TVs can fit perfectly in any corner, where a normal television cannot.

For those of you who are scratching their heads, LCD is short for Liquid Crystal Diode, that makes televisions considerably slimmer and as a result, you have flat panel televisions. Since they are sleeker, you should go in for larger TVs. HP High Definition LCD TVs are available in sizes ranging from 32 inches to 47 inches. Not only do they give perfect picture quality, they're also great for playing games. You can get an almost real feeling while playing games on them.

HP LCD Televisions are far more superior to their competitors and more resistant to burn in from computers and TV video game consoles. LCD comes in the design called Twisted Nematic (TN), which means that it is naturally twisted and reacts to electric currents that are passed in a predictable manner. Based on the voltage, the currents untwist it to various degrees, that allows different amounts of light to pass through the TN crystals that are stuck between panes of polarized glass. HP Flatscreen TVs use the TFT technology for reduced size and reducing the depth. It also helps in less energy consumption and reduced weight of the model. They can also be used as computer monitors.

HP High Definition LCD TVs offer amazing viewing angles, and some models can even produce great picture quality even when viewed at an obtuse angle of 170 degrees! They have non-glare screens that prove to be a huge relief for your eyes, even if you view it from a close distance. No matter how bright the room is, an HP LCD TV will deliver crisp images, just as in a dark room.

Whether it's digital music, photographs, slideshows, movies, or even surfing the web, your HP Flatscreen TV is capable of all this and more. In fact, you can even collaborate your home's other networking devices and view all important files on your HP television. You can get comfortable in your living room with your all new entertainment center!

If you like smooth, sharp images, an HP LCD TV is the best choice for you. They display natural looking colors and give you an unmatched viewing experience. Moreover, they are so attractive that they almost look like a piece of art! HP LCD Televisions give you the best of digital technology in an affordable package. Log on to the SuperWarehouse store and book your order today!

We're going to fix that. To complete this How-To you will need: Patience Paper and pen And time to shop Step 1: Consider plasmas Consider the two types of flat-screen TVs: plasma and LCD. Plasma screens are larger and provide a more vivid picture, and are easily viewed from different angles. Tip: On the other hand, still images — such as network logos — can "burn in," or become permanently visible, on some plasmas, though that's becoming less of a problem. Step 2: Consider LCDs Now weigh the merits of the LCD. It's lighter and less fragile than a plasma, uses less electricity, is easier to install, and there's no danger of burn-in. But the LCD picture is also less vivid. A good general rule of thumb is if you are looking for less then a 50-inch screen, then go with LCDs. Step 3: Consider resolution Consider if you want to pay for a higher resolution — that is, a sharper picture than what comes standard with a plasma or LCD. There are several upgrades. Step 4: Comparison shop Once you've decided what you want, its time to comparison shop, either in person at your local electronics store or online. Compare TVs ...

If you just bought a new LCD television then you are probably looking for some information about which wall mount TV bracket to buy. Before going out and buying a TV wall mount bracket there are a few things that you should keep in mind. You need to check what part of your wall is strong enough to hold your TV. You need to know how heavy your new TV is and you need to know what options you are looking for in a TV wall mounting bracket.

It is extremely important to check where the studs are in the wall where you want to hang your new flatscreen TV. If you attach the bracket in the wrong spot there may not be enough strength for it to hold. When you subsequently hang your Plasma, flatscreen or LCD TV on the bracket the weight will be too much and the bracket will separate from the wall. This would result in a pretty catastrophic situation. In order to protect your new television you have to be extra sure that you've chosen the correct location to attach the bracket and subsequently mount your TV. If you're not sure about how to go about this then it is probably a good idea to call in a professional. You don't necessarily have to get a contractor or some other type of expensive serviceman. Most handymen will know how to check your wall for studs and will be able to advise you where the best places are to attach your wall mount TV bracket and hang your new flatscreen television.

Wall mounts for flat screen TV come in different shapes, sizes and weights. It is imperative that you write down all of these details about your new flat screen TV in order to purchase the rights TV wall mounts -- suitable for your particular television. The weight of your new television is especially important that is because you need to buy the appropriate bracket that will hold the weight of your flat screen TV. All of this information is available in your user manual or on the manufacturers website of your flat screen television. If you're searching online for the information make sure that you have the correct model number so that you will gather the correct information for your specific television.

The last thing to keep in mind when shopping for flat screen TV wall mounts is what type of features you'd like to have in your new TV wall mount. The most basic of TV wall mounts is basically just a mounting bracket that allows you to hang your television on the wall. Wall mounts with more features are the kind that have an arm coming out of the bracket on the wall. These type of brackets allow for adjusting your television's angle for better viewing options. With this type of TV wall mount bracket you can adjust the angle of your television is vertically and horizontally.

So, those are more or less things that you need to keep in mind when shopping for a wall mount TV bracket. Make sure that you know where the best place on the wall is to hang your new TV; check all the dimensions and particulars of your specific TV so that you buy the correct TV wall mount bracket; and decide what options you want in your TV you wall mounting bracket.
The advent of flat screens and plasmas has meant that the modern TV is becoming larger and slimmer than its predecessor. The simplest way to display a flat screen television is with a wall mount. These are becoming common accessories in homes and they are widely available for purchase these days.

There can be a few benefits to showcasing a flat screen or plasma on a wall mount. It can make a good central feature for a living area with the furniture arranged around this to provide a comfortable viewing area. In practical terms, wall mounts make it is easy to move the TV around to get the best viewing position. Larger TV's can be heavy, but when attached to a wall mount they are easy to adjust.

If you need the flexibility of moving a TV screen around to be viewed from any position in a room then a Sanus full motion wall mount can be the best option. With these it is possible to extend, retract, tilt and swivel the TV. In a larger room with a few different chairs and sofas this can be a good idea. It means that wherever you sit to watch the TV, you can adjust it to provide the best view possible.

In smaller rooms where a TV tends to be watched from one position, a Sanus tilting mount can be an appropriate for mounting a television. These allow you to tilt the TV to get the best viewing angle. Whether you enjoy watching TV sitting in a chair or lying on the floor, a tilting mount will help you get the best view.

If you want to have your flat screen or plasma fitted as close to a wall as possible then a Sanus low profile wall mount is the one to choose. These attach a screen almost flush to the wall and this can help to emphasize the sleek lines of your television.

There is a big range in the sizes of flat screens available these days. Smaller screens can be around 20 inches and sometimes smaller. However many larger televisions are available and the screen size can go as large as 80 inches and greater. However whatever size of television you decide on, Sanus wall mounts will be able to accommodate this.

To assist you in finding an appropriate wall mount Sanus Systems have included a clever mount finder feature on their company website. On this you can enter the make and model of TV you own or are considering purchasing. It will then provide details of the appropriate wall mounts that Sanus produce that can accommodate the television.

There are a number of dealers and retailers around the country that stock Sanus TV wall mounts. If you have access to the internet the simplest way to find one in your area is to use the store locator on the Sanus website. If you cannot find a suitable Sanus dealer near you then Chief mounts are an alternative to consider.

Plasma TVs and LCD TVs (flat screen TVs) may look similar, but there are differences in features and technology that can be the deciding factor when you come to choose your new TV. Flatscreen TVs are luxury items and a are a major purchase for most of us, so it helps to be well informed.

Screen Size vs Room Size

Flat screen TVs come in different sizes, so how big should you go? It's tempting just to buy the biggest one you can afford, but this may not be the wisest option. Room size and furniture layout should determine the optimal TV screen size, not your personal taste. Most people would think that the bigger the room, the bigger the TV. The key to finding out the best size of TV for your room is to measure the distance between where the TV will be positioned and where your seating is. Obviously, a 19" screen will seem tiny in a large room, but if your chairs are within four or five feet of the TV, you will still have a good viewing experience. Also, larger TVs have wider viewing areas. Flat screen TVs are best viewed head on, as the picture washes out when viewed at an angle. So if you have some seating at an angle to the TV, a larger screen is the better choice. Before you buy, jot down measurements of viewing distance and room size. A good showroom salesperson will be able to recommend the right screen size for you.

Plasma or LCD

There are two types of flat screen TV: plasma and LCD. Both produce very high quality pictures, and both have pros and cons, so it helps to be informed about what each has to offer. Plasmas are the kings of size. The smallest plasma TV is 42", which may be too big for some rooms, and (at the time of writing) go up to an incredible 150", although this is not a commercial model. The screen contains phosphors which produce light. This gives a very bright picture that has a film-like quality, rich, natural colours, and very clear action sequences. Plasma TVs are also prone to "burn in". If an image is static on the screen for too long, it will burn into the screen forever. However, new technologies exist to decrease and prevent this. Plasma screens are more reflective than their LCD counterparts and reflect room lights, so if you opt for a plasma TV, consider rearranging your lighting. If you watch a lot of movies, then a plasma will give a better quality picture, even from wider viewing angles.

Although they are brighter, LCD TVs do not have the same picture clarity as plasmas, but they are catching up. They are thinner, lighter (better for wall mounting) and more energy efficient than plasma TVs, and are also quieter, as they don't require a fan for cooling. If your room can't accommodate a large screen TV, then LCD is the best option, as they come in sizes starting at 19". LCD TVs aren't affected by air pressure which means the picture will stay true at higher altitudes. The "burn in" that affects plasma TVs isn't an issue with LCDs. This means they are better suited to playing video games or TV programmes which have scrolling tickers. A downside is that sometimes during fast action scenes, the picture can pixellate, although manufacturers are addressing this.

Confusing Terms Explained

It's easy to get confused when choosing a flat screen TV because of the terminology used to describe their features. Although individual manufacturers have coined terms for their own features and innovations, there are many industry standard terms. Here's a glossary of some of the main terms you'll come across.

HDTV - High Definition Television. This offers twice the resolution or clarity of a normal display. The image is crystal clear and has surround sound in compact disc quality.

Aspect Ratio - The shape of the screen. TV programmes and DVDs are available in different sizes. Widescreen TVs will display older programmes in 4:3 (the traditional TV screen shape) and black bars appear at the side (letterboxed). Movies are shot in 16:9 and fit better into wide screens. Today's flat screen TVs are able to display pictures in a variety of aspect ratios.

Resolution - The measurement of picture quality. Also called Progressive Scan. It is measured in pixels: the more pixels, the higher the quality. Terms like "720p" or "1080p" refer to the horizontal amount of pixels. The "p" stands for Progressive Scan.

Refresh Rate - The number of frames played per second. Referred to in hertz e.g. 60Hz or 120Hz. The higher the refresh rate, the smoother moving pictures appear.

Response Time - The time it takes for pixels to switch between black and white. Measured in milliseconds e.g. 6ms, 8ms, the lower the response time the smoother the picture.

HDMI - High-Definition Multimedia Interface. Ports for connecting multimedia devices such as DVD and Blu-Ray players, computers, games consoles and set top boxes.

Summary

Bigger isn't always better. Measure your room, find the best location for your TV, and ask a showroom salesperson for advice on size and type of screen best suited to your needs, and buy the best TV you can for your budget.

HDTV and Flatscreen TV Decisions and Choices

It’s that time of year when we all want to make our wish list ofnew and innovative electronics, and a brand new flatscreen hdtv television is high on our want list.

HDTV and the new flatscreen tv’s are definitely a move up in theHome. The big question is what’s the best buy and best bang for your ever tightening budget.

The range of flatscreen tv choices is wider than their screen widthsthemselves. With HDTV you must match your input cables to actuallyreceive the HDTV resolutions that they can produce.

HDTV must have HDMI cables attached from the output of your incoming reception source, whether it is the cable box or your vcr.

Don’t be surprised by what this all important cable will set you backIn dollars, it can be expensive, but necessary to get the true HD effectsyou are after.

On thing that has always held true with older conventional tv’s is thesmaller the screen size the sharper the picture. In other words, a 11 inchdiagonal tv will give a better picture quality than say a 25 inch console, both with regular aerial reception. This is no longer true with HDTV, theprocess of reception and transferring the images has changed.

Flatscreen reception is dependent on how you have captured the receptionand how you are connecting it to the tv itself. Don’t short order the input andexpect true HD reception on your tv.

The choices ahead of you in selecting your next tv are LCD, Plasma, Projection, and Size. Size matters, and most of us want the biggest and thebest for the least amount invested, so shop with your pocketbook and notso much with a bigger is better viewpoint. You will see differing warranties with each brand, notice their life expectancy as well. These are very importantwhen deciding what gives you the most for the least.

With so many folks investing in new systems to fall in step with the digital switch, TV aerial installers certainly enjoy packed schedules these days. The digital changeover has led to a huge number of folks giving their old TVs an overhaul…and maybe investing in new TV aerials...and speakers...and surround sound… and multiroom viewing....etc…etc…! The point being, with all this wonderful technology flying around knocking their socks off with 3D nature shows and surround sound battle soundtracks, a thought should be spared for how all this new gear will fit into the domestic environment.

Modular Media CentresModern life is all about modular and bespoke options. Leading suppliers like IKEA, Habitat and Muji are fantastic places to source well-made, highly adaptable modular TV furniture options. Always make sure wires are adequately catered for; it's not exactly stealthy, stylish or safe to leave a tangle of wires about the place. Make a plan before shopping - take measurements, do some sketches or take photographs.

Wall mountingBy far one of the most popular space-saving options - de-clutter, save money on TV stand furniture and free up floor space. Wall mounting a flatscreen TV can be a tough job. Many TV aerial installers are happy to wall-mount TVs when visiting to fit TV aerials.

TextilesOne for the thriftily minded - curtains, fabric drapes or a handmade cover can be a great (cheap!) way to hide a TV set. Whether the intention is to protect the TV from dust build-up, screen it from view or protect it from missiles (kids' finger painting and sibling rivalry can get WAY out of hand!), textile covers are perhaps the easiest option.

Remote Control CoversThese can be pretty pricey, but the fact remains that a remote control cover (usually with personalised or optional cover art) is a seriously stylish way to hide the TV!

It's amazing when you think of how far technology has come. It was only just a joke when Ralph Kramden told his wife Alice that the reason he wouldn't buy a tv is because he was waiting for 3D television.

As funny as that was at the time, today it is a reality and with the size of television screens increasing to phenominal proportions, it's no wonder that people want to by flat screen tv's.

If you don't yet own your own flat screen television, how much longer do you think you can go on looking at your old 32" before you decide to upgrade?

Today's flat screen technology is capable of providing the user with an incredible viewing experience that can only be topped by going to a movie theatre.

Types of Flat Screen TV's

There are three popular types of flat screen tv's that are available:

1. Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)

2. Plasma

3. Light Emitting Diode (LED)

Each of these types of televisions has the ability to produce crisp and clear colors that will make you feel as though you've just been cast in the latest hit movie.

LCD TV's have a tendency show a blurry picture in high action scenes that involve a lot of fast movement and the average life span of LCD TV's is approximately 30 to 70 thousand hours.

Plasma TV's are very good at depicting low light and shadow areas and have an average life span of approximately 50 to 90 thousand hours. They are also a bit on the heavy side.

LED TV's are a somewhat of a happy medium between LCD and Plasma TV's.

It's good to take into consideration who will be watching the flatscreen tv you decide to buy as this will help with the decision to buy one that comes with internet connectivity and whether or not that is of major importance or not.

Also depending on the room that you will be watching your television in can also help in determining whether or not you'll need to purchase home theater equipment or if the sound from the tv itself is enough.

Regardless of what you decide, the difference between a 52" inch projection screen tv and a 52" flat screen HD Tv is like night and day.

Best TV 2011 Guide : How to choose the best TV

Best TV article is constantly updated with links to the latest TV reviews and buying advice , Find the best LCD TV, the best plasma TV and best TV by size.Which is the best LCD TV? Which is best out of LCD and plasma? Which screen size is best for my living room? What's the difference between LCD and LED TVs?These are the kind of questions that millions of us have to ask every year. Buying a new TV can be a confusing experience even for the tech-savvy.It doesn't help that technology is moving on at a rapid pace and we're constantly being treated to new tech which comes hand in hand with new jargon. In this article you'll find all the buying advice you'll need for snapping up the top rated TV for you and your space, as well as all the best LCD TVs and best plasma TVs by size, and a run-down of every single TV in the ranges of all the best TV manufacturers, starting from the best down to the budget TVs.

The best 32-inch TVsMost living rooms can't physically take a TV much bigger than 32-inch, making this size by far the best for a lot of people in the UK.But within this size division, there's plenty of choice. A basic HD-ready set can be found for less than £300 is you search hard, though it's just as easy to spend over £2k on the best ones. There's only one certainty at this size - your new TV will be a LCD TV. If you're lucky it could have LED backlighting, but it won't be a plasma; LG used to make plasmas at this size, but there's not one on sale currently…

The best 37-inch TVsMaking the decision to upgrade from a bulky old 28-inch CRT TV is almost too easy, but heading straight for a 42-inch plasma can seem a little daunting. And thus the 37-inch size has become one of the UK's most popular shapes; a lot more impressive than a 32-incher, yet not big enough to entirely dominate a living room. It's also often the maximum size for those of us who are forced, simply by the shape of our living room, to shove a TV in the corner. It's a size division that's as competitive as any, with the big brands weighing in with both LCD and plasma TV models. Despite its direct forerunners being some of the best-reviewed (and best-selling) TVs around, Panasonic's TX-P37X20 is the only plasma left in this category…

The best 42-inch TVsOnce known simply as 'plasma screens' in the collective consciousness, the 40-42-inch size is where the flatscreen dream started in the late 1990s - and where it's still at its most innovative and best. Now a lot more varied, with plasmas rubbing shoulders with (and quickly being outnumbered by) LCD TVs and their ultra-modern LED TV makeover, 40-42 inches is still the sweetspot for anyone not overly concerned with ruining the interior design of their living room.As well as being the fastest growing sector of the market, this size also offers possibly the best value TVs around. Serious home cinema addicts have moved on to 50-inch and bigger screens, leaving this category a swarm of slashed prices…

The best 3D TVsSlip on a pair of £100 3D glasses, nestle in front of a brand new £2,000 TV and switch on a £350 3D Blu-ray player and you'll likely warm to the notion that 3D is more than just an illusion. It's created by your brain processing two separate images coming to it via your eyes, and while this stereoscopic approach can be done relatively cheaply, the big manufacturers have plumped for a rather expensive format that relies on rather clumsy, heavy glasses. It's called Full HD 3D, and, to be fair, it's the best form of 3D TV currently available…

Best Freeview HD TVWith universal coverage set for the end of 2011, the process of weeding-out sets without Freeview HD tuners inside has begun - and we don't expect there will be a single no-Freeview HD TV left on sale by the end of this year. Here's the best of the first crop.

Best Panasonic TV: what to buy this yearWhile it's never enjoyed the devotion reserved for the likes of Apple, Panasonic is surely one of the strongest brands on the planet - and especially in the flatscreen TV sphere.2010 saw the brand introduce its first 3D Full HD plasmas TVs alongside its debut LED-backlit LCD TVs; the Panasonic hall of fame is impossible to ignore if you're after a a new HDTV.

Best TV for gamingDecide to buy the biggest flatscreen possible on which to play Call of Duty and you might end-up with low-fuzzy foregrounds and blurry battlefields. You'll get no cheat codes from us, but this handy guide to buying the best TV for gamers might help you skip forward a few levels in finding the ideal TV for you.

3D TVWith the Blu-ray 3D specification finalised and Sky's 3D TV channel due, the UK faces another telly revolution.Forget the digital switchover, 1080p 'Full HD' and web-connected TV widgetry. Jump-out-of-the-screen 'stereoscopic 3D' is the best TV tech around!Trying to describe it is like trying to paint a symphony. So what will you need to watch 3D TV? Who's doing it? When? What's the best 3D TV? And will your existing HDTV work? Carry on reading to find out the answers to these and many more 3D TV questions.
